January 21 - a very special roundtable discussion with legendary writer and producer Marta Kauffman about how we can intentionally create our lives, followed by a writing session to identify YOUR intentions for the coming year.
We are constantly reimagining and reinventing our lives. What is it we want to create and accomplish NOW? What stands in our way? How do we start? How can we take our mistakes and turn them into our mission? How do we take our challenges and turn them into a myriad of choices? How do we take action to set ourselves free from our own self-imposed shackles?
What do you intend to create this coming year?
As the year closes, and the new year is upon us, we want to inspire you to see your value, worth, and power from the inside out. To access your inner wisdom. We all have had to sidestep our fears, tackle our doubts and shame, and see ourselves through the eyes of others who remind us how extraordinary we are as we navigate creating our lives, and want you to step into your courage and greatness as the new year unfolds, releasing the 'not good enough' voices.
Marta's journey is filled with much success, acclaim, and many awards. While we applaud her success, it came with much self-doubt, obstacles, and a ton of challenges that didn't disappear for her once she became successful. Instead, she faced each doubt and fear head-on, allowing her to see what she was made of as she carved out and created a journey that inspires and encourages millions of women. All the while facing the same challenges many of us do: raising a family, work/life balance, divorce, aging, and all the things that life throws at women.
So many of us have a story that we've kept under wraps out of shame or guilt, a story of separation from a mother, a sister, a son, a brother or anyone who was once very important to us and we no longer speak to or see. So many of us have a story we long to tell regardless of whether the story ends in relief, reconciliation, or an unresolved ache that has not gone away.
We want to hear and write about those stories.
Perhaps a family member or close friend has cut you out of their life in a way that feels like an unexpected death, and you’re haunted by their last call or text. Maybe you have suffered abuse from one of your children or siblings, or a parent, and you need to walk away to protect yourself regardless of how much you care for them. Sometimes we have to look at our own behavior.
What did I do? How can I fix this? Do I want to? Do I really want this person back in my life?
The silence of what some call "The Living Loss" can be heartbreaking. For many of us, setting healthy, clear boundaries can be liberating. There is power in severing ties with abusive or cruel people in our lives - no matter their relationship to us. It is the ultimate act of self-worth. In some cases, there are opportunities to open a door, to reconcile, and to heal ... to start over. How do we begin that journey after many years of no communication? How do we go back into a relationship on different terms? Where do I start? In most cases, holidays can become triggering or painful events while it seems everyone is celebrating.
By sharing our stories of healthy detachment, quiet suffering, or inspiring reconciliation, we can help one another understand this very important and enlightening topic: Estrangement. Join us on November 20th in a lively discussion and Q & A, plus a writing and reading session in a very safe space.
What words and thoughts come to mind when you think about your work in the world? Does it define you or do you define it? Did you create the life you wanted or are you still dreaming - hoping and wishing - about doing work that sustains you in a meaningful way?
Will I go broke, or should I go for broke?
Can I? Should I? Dare I?
What holds us back, and who holds us back?
What does the future hold for younger women?
What does the future hold for women who still have dreams...
in their 50's and 60's and yes, 70's and beyond?
So many questions - so many thoughts and ideas swirling around the notion of women and our work in the world. Stepping into the unknown heart first is both very scary and very exhilarating; planting your feet firmly on the ground knowing that your dreams are YOURS to achieve.
In this extraordinary community, our community, Wise Women Wise Words, we want to talk and write about all the ways we feel about our work.
Passion. Power. Money. Creativity. Ageism. Fear. Doubt. Dreams. Balance.
From our first jobs to our biggest dreams, the dreams we fulfilled, and yes, the dreams we gave up. How we deal with ageism and sexism in a world where wisdom and experience are not given the proper due. Let's talk about the women who lifted us up… and the women (and men) who stood in our way. The work we do as mothers and caregivers. The work we do in the world that gets attention… and that goes unnoticed.
Please join us and our Special Guests, Bonnie Marcus and Elizabeth Hines, two passionate and powerful women who have much wisdom, experience, and stories to share about putting their beautiful work in the world.
Let’s all share our stories of creating our own destiny, of re-invention and of courage. We want to open a dialogue about starting fresh and... starting over. At all ages. Let’s talk openly and truthfully about the dreams that got tucked into a drawer, and the ones we fought so very hard to achieve. We invite you to write about what sets your soul on fire, igniting what you thought was lost, and celebrate what you have created and achieved with your work in the world. Let’s write about the juggling of life’s ups and downs, while asking for what it is we want, demanding what we deserve - equality and equity - and not letting the word NO stop us.

We can hold a heart or we can break it.
We can keep a secret or we can spill it.
We can get you through your darkest days or we can become your darkest days.
We often talk about the importance of Sisterhood, the beauty of women championing and supporting and rooting each other on. Lifting each other. It's what we long for, desire, and crave. A community of women who we can share all and everything with - even our most painful stories. Women who see us without rose-colored glasses or the need for perfection.
But just like marriage, friendships are not always what we hope for or what they seem. Along with love, support, and understanding, jealousy, intimidation, and resentment can creep in and fracture what was once perceived as a strong foundation. How many of us have been left behind by someone we share so very much with? How many of us have felt betrayed when discarded by women we once trusted for speaking simply our truth. So many of us have been abandoned without a word - just left flat with the pain of being ghosted.
Let's really talk about Women & Friendship. The good, the glorious, the best, and yes, the worst; about the women who hold us up and have our backs, and the women who turn their backs on us.
There is so much joy and heartbreak in our stories.
We are deeply determined, through this event, to inspire you and encourage you that you're not alone in your experiences or feelings. Our fervent wish is that we open up a discussion while opening up our hearts to each other. There is nothing more extraordinary and beautiful than having a community of women - true friends - who understand us, and who have us tucked into their souls and our hearts. While betrayal is utterly brutal, we can release those women who don't wish us well or wish us love so we can use our very lives and the power we have to change the world for the better for all women.

Join Amy Ferris, Lisa Lucca & Beth Broday in a virtual gathering that launches a community for women at all life stages. We will introduce our intention to explore topics that impact women's lives - the good, the bad, and the ugly - in roundtable discussions, writing workshops, and retreats. Let's get real and deep about what matters to us!
Bring a friend, your daughter, your mom, or any woman who would like to be part of a vibrant and supportive group of women.
